Good questions.

How HAFLAH works for hosts, guests and the people at the door.

Getting started

What is HAFLAH?

One page for your whole event. You send the invitations, guests answer from the link, and you add only what the night needs: a schedule, seating, a potluck dish board, timeslots, questions like meal choice, a guestbook, guest photos, tickets and QR check-in at the door.

See every feature
What kinds of events is it for?

Weddings are where it started, but it works for anything with a guest list: engagements, birthdays, dinners, graduations, potlucks, galas and ticketed nights.

Do my guests need the app?

No. Every invitation opens in any phone or computer browser. The HAFLAH app is there for guests who want it, but nobody has to install anything.

Do guests need an account?

Not for a simple RSVP: guests answer straight from the link. They confirm their email when there's something personal to hold, like a QR pass for the door, a ticket or a booked time.

Which languages does HAFLAH speak?

Six: English, Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Spanish and French, with right-to-left layouts for Arabic, Persian and Urdu. Guests can switch language from any page.

Can I design my own invitation?

Yes. Open the studio from any design or a blank card. Change the words, fonts, colors and photos, and dress the envelope in a theme: 21 ready-made themes, or mix your own. It's free, and you can try it before you sign up.

Can I change my design after sending?

Yes. Edit your card or switch designs any time. Guests see the new version the next time they open their link, and the link stays the same.

Can I choose my own link?

Yes, free on every event: a link like layla-and-omar.myhaflah.com. Pick it as you finish creating your event, or later from Share & invite. Change it as often as you like until your invitation is sent or opened; after that you can change it once more, and then it's locked. Old links keep working.

What happens to my link after the event?

It stays with your event for as long as the event is on HAFLAH. After the party it opens a keepsake page with what you chose to share, like the guestbook. No other host can claim it while it's yours to use, and you can move it to your next event; the earlier one keeps a short path such as /2026. In rare cases, like a trademark claim or abuse, HAFLAH can take a name back (see our Terms, Section 21).

Invitations and RSVPs

How do I invite guests?

Two ways, and you can use both. Give each household its own personal link, so every answer lands on the right name. Or share one open link anyone can use to RSVP, and turn on approval if you want to accept each person yourself.

Can one invitation cover a whole family?

Yes. Give a party as many seats as you like, and name each person if you want to know exactly who's coming. The family answers from the same link.

Can guests change their answer?

Yes, until you close RSVPs, the deadline you set passes, or the event is over. Your guest list updates as they do.

Can guests ask to bring more people?

If you allow it. Turn on seat requests and guests can ask for more; you approve or decline each one.

Can I ask guests questions, like meal choice?

Yes. Add questions such as meal choice, dietary needs or a song request. Guests who are coming answer them on their invitation, and you see the totals.

Can I message my guests?

Yes. Send an announcement to everyone, message one guest directly, or talk with your team in a staff chat, all inside HAFLAH.

Can guests share their photos?

Yes. Turn on Photos and guests add their photos from the invitation, from the day before the event until 30 days after. Each guest sees only the photos they added; you see them all. You choose how many each guest can add, hide or delete any photo, and download them all. You can also share a photos-only link with family who weren't there. Photos are kept at full quality, with location data removed.

Can I run a raffle?

Yes, on any free event. Add your prizes, and everyone coming is entered automatically, one entry per person. When you tap Draw, every guest's phone counts down and spins the names at the same moment, and the winner sees "You won!" on their screen. You always draw by hand, and you can stop a draw during the countdown. On events with time slots, each slot gets its own raffle with its own guests.

How long are photos kept at full quality?

Originals stay at full quality for one year, then are resized to 2560px. Download them anytime before then.

At the door

How does QR check-in work?

Each guest who's coming gets a pass with a QR code. Your door team scans it on their own phones, and each scan admits one person. Your arrival count updates live as they do.

What if a guest forgets their phone?

Your door team can search the guest list by name and check them in by hand.

Who can help me run the event?

Add co-hosts and give each one only what they need: the door, the guest list, messaging, money and tickets, and more. Someone scanning at the entrance doesn't have to see your finances.

Can I see who has arrived?

Yes. Your event shows how many people are in, and your door team sees the same live count while they scan.

Pricing

Is HAFLAH free?

Every feature is free on every event, for up to 25 guests, and so is every design. For a bigger event you pay once to raise that event's guest limit. There's no subscription.

See pricing
What do you charge when I sell tickets or take payments?

3% + 50¢ on every payment: each paid ticket or timeslot seat, and each vendor or sponsor payment, plus card processing. Free tickets and seats cost nothing. For each ticket type, timeslot, vendor table and sponsor tier, you choose whether the buyer pays the fees or you do. Paid tickets and seats start at $5.

Where can I sell tickets?

Selling tickets, paid timeslots, vendor booths and sponsorships is available to hosts in the United States, Canada, Australia and the UAE, paid in their own currency.

Why can't I run a raffle on a paid event?

A raffle on an event people pay to attend counts as a lottery in most places: a prize, a chance to win, and a payment. Lotteries need a license, and running one without a license can be against the law. To keep you safe, raffles only work on free events. If your event has paid tickets, there's no raffle. If it has time slots, any free slot can have its own raffle, and the paid ones can't. Entering is always free, and prizes can't be cash.

Your data

Can I export my guest list?

Yes. Download it as CSV, Excel or PDF from your event's guest list, or send it to Google Sheets.

What happens after my event?

Archive it to tidy your dashboard. Nothing is deleted: guests, check-ins and messages stay, and you can unarchive it any time.

How do I delete my account?

From your account settings. Deleting your account permanently removes the events you host and everything in them.
